Want to improve your sleep?

Did you know that getting plenty of light in the day and dimming the lights at night can maybe help you sleep better?

Making sure we get enough light and dark at the correct times of the day helps support your sleep-wake cycle, one of the most important circadian rhythms.

Circadian rhythms are 24-hour cycles that are part of the body's internal clock, running in the background to carry out essential functions and processes.

Dimming the lights at night helps us produce more melatonin earlier which then helps us to feel sleepy. It's also really cosy!

Melatonin is a hormone which controls how asleep or awake people feel.  Artificial light can disrupt this. The hormone is produced in the pineal gland in the brain and its release into the body is controlled by light.

So, today our aim is to get out whilst it's light and then at 6pm sharp, the lights will be going off and the candles will be coming out!
